THE OLD ENGLISH SHEEPDOG

CLUB OF SCOTLAND

(RESCUE & REHOMING)

The Rescue and Rehoming service of the Club provides a voluntary service to ensure that dogs that need rehoming, for what ever reason, are given the best possible chance of finding a good and permanent home in which it can have a happy future.

If you would like to rehome an Old English Sheepdog simply fill in and return our application form and we will be in touch.

We do not charge any fee for our dogs. We rely solely on donations and fund raising. However, it has been calculated that a rehoming donation of approximately £50.00 per dog is sufficient to maintain our efforts and subsequent continued help and support for our dogs.

Unfortunately our Rescue is only able to operate in the Scottish area. However, if you reside in England and Wales we recommend that you contact your local OES Breed Club for their assistance.

Many of the dogs that we rehome have been illtreated, neglected, abused and, in extreme cases, left to die.

Mickey was one such dog. Left to die in a park he soon became a loved and loving family pet.

Fortunately, not all of our dogs have suffered. Some are just victims of circumstance whereby their owners, despite their love and attachment, are forced to rehome their pets.

Others, despite being loved, are just victims of ignorance. Old English Sheepdogs are particularly difficult and time consuming dogs to maintain. Unsuspecting or ill informed owners try their best before losing patience.

........ and then there are the stray dogs. These are often picked up by either the dog warden or good intentioned members of the public and then deposited in local authority or S.P.C.A. kennels. Fortunately we have a good working relationship with many of the kennels and are called in to assist with the rehoming.
